3 Dogmatic Rules

During a conference Benja facilitated for the Danish union of commerce and services (HK) she came up with the three dogmatic rules of gender equality and Womenomics.

I - Gender is a business issue - not a women's issue!, Benja S. Fagerland (2002)
We need the economical arguments and let the logic and reasoning do the talking.
“More women as leaders means a strengthened bottom line!”, The NHO FEMALE FUTURE rapport (2003)

Traditional approaches to the issue are utterly outdated and useless -- and the de facto reason why we still do not see equality in the work place, distributionwise or on the pay checks. The mistaken approach and focus is why we have not yet succeeded!

There is a vast untapped braintrust, talents and potential for ressources available to the companies and organization whom are willing to exploit this opening and understand what motivate and drive women on the global labourmarket and marketplace.
It's time to bridge the talent (and gender) gap!

II - Women is the most powerful driver of economic growth

"Forget China, India and the Internet: economic growth is driven by women.Though the notion may seem far-fetched - women are half of China, India and the Internet. Women are ascending the global career ladder - and are a foundation of the sustainable world economy."

- The Economist, 10 September 2007

During the course of the 21st century a paradigm shift will occur that will literally change the way we conduct business, plan strategies, think of markets and executive management. The world is enscossed in a revolution and in the center of perhaps the most radical of all the changes are women. The demands are comming from the dawning new era of modern living, thinking, feeling and working. Yet somehow we supply the marketplace with the stones of a dying world. A dying marketplace.

Companies and organizations alike should and will be able to exploit every possible ressource available to them. Especially when they are key to economic growth! And what is this magic ressource? Women! Proven, wrapped and delivered.

A study proving that companys with a higher share of women in executive management, boards and high end positions have a higher and more rapid growth. Not necessarily a related cause, but definately a significant correlation. The core issue of Womenomics!

III - Shift the focus!

-Talents and qualifications - in spite of gender - is the key. By having an "all male" hiring policy boards, companys and organization miss out on a huge share of the talentmass and braintrust.

We are forced to dismantle the obsolete notions in companies and develop gender- and talent bilingual organizations and multilingual executives. That is the only way we can succeed in a marketplace fiercely fighting for the best ressources and talents!
Prejudices is a luxury we cannot afford.

The future of the global marketplace is yet to be known. We can only gather so and so much knowledge about what is yet to happen. What we do know is that a subtle and subliminal exclution of women in the workforce is a powerful force that is based on an outdated and biased perception, based on an agrarian (even feudal) system.
It's time for change!
